These garden guides are very sturdy and attractive. Purchasers should realize that to get the full benefit of the item, you raise and lower a guide (i.e., pull it in/out of the ground a few inches) to anchor your hose and then do the reverse to release it. This requires a little more effort than the "bumper" style of hose guard, but I like them. Have already stopped me from accidentally clobbering my perennials when working in the interior of a large "island" on my property. To anchor a semipermanent drip hose, these guides would be ideal. For daily watering, they require a bit more effort to guard your plants, but I do believe they're worth it.
