Love 'em. In the package they looked more choclatey "bittersweet" than black, but once you have them on they are a beautiful black color. Spanx have earned the hype, as these will hold you in where you need to be held in . The size chart was super helpful - I am about 5'6" and a size 16 and the D size fit great, without feeling too short or having extra fabric hanging off my toes (have experience both with "plus size" hose that seemed made for a 7' tall woman rather than a 5 foot-something one that needed extra width rather than length!) .
