I have read VJ Dunn before. I have always appreciated her ability to create and describe her characters in a way that makes you love them or hate them. She has a gift of making them seem so real, so everyday, so like you and they become real people that you feel as though you really know.I truly enjoyed this first book in the Beginning of the End series. I don't love the jagged cliff ending that left me tearing my fingernails out but since the other three books are already out, I can deal with it. Plus, that's a sign of a great book when you hit the last page without realizing you're almost done and you NEED to know what happens next.I will definitely be continuing the series. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is 16ish. It is totally clean for language, intimacy and contains no on scene intimate violence but the subject matter and references to local and world events make me feel like 16 is appropriate.
