This is a good idea in principle but has significant limitations. The socket is filled with hardened metal pins, each pushed out by a spring. When you push the socket over a bolt head, some pins are pushed in against their springs leaving the rest gripping the head. The pins only move back in by 10 mm, however. As most nuts have a bevel this means the grip across the face of the bolt head will be less than 10mm. In my case the bolts I wanted to spin on and off with a battery screwdriver had 10 mm domes so the socket wouldn't grip at all.Be mindful that this socket is not intended for high torque applications as the pins are quite loose and the fit over a bolt head will never be as tight as a one-size socket. For low torque applications where the bolt needs many turns with an electric drill (hence the chuck adaptor) it could be useful but it won't work with a nut if the bolt protrudes through into the socket
